MY BOOK FROM JAPAN

“The border is the real protagonist of space as the present, another border, is the protagonist of time.“ (Eduardo Chillida)

This project has developed during my studies at GEIDAI, Tokyo when I was concerning myself with the intermediate, the border between space. Let me call it inter-space. The in-between, the interface, place of separation and interaction, scope, tolerance, clearance, gap, offset, distance, confine, contour. The particular quality and complexity of this topic is that it is somehow intangible and elusive.

In Tokyo City and Japanese architecture we can find different conditions giving us impulses for an analysis. Drawing on those situations this paper tries to catch some of the aspects mentioned above showing a series of photographs. As a further aim this work tries to analyse and interpret the results while transferring them into abstract models on their part being impulses for further studies and projects.
