We need to mend, revive and rewild. KI MA KAMI* is a multidisciplinary design practice, established by Barbara Fontana to find solutions for URBAN ECOLOGIES & ARCHITECTURE on various scales.

LOCAL VERNACULAR, EARTHEN materials and TIMBER constructions as well as RECYCLED FURNITURE are just one part of the spectrum. GRAPHIC designs sometimes support the above. All of this always with optimism and great hope for our grandchildren’s future, believing that PLANTS and WATER are our best friends.

IT’S NOT ONLY ABOUT US HUMANS! But it is us, who have to be deeply driven by the urgency to tackle the most important challenges of our time and to find new strategies for our urban systems, ecosystems and social structures. Greener cities, healthier living spaces for people in symbiosis with their environment, with flora and fauna, combining traditional knowledge with innovative ideas can help us all to smoothly transition architecture, our society, human kind and our home planet into a positive future.

At KI MA KAMI, the ideal approach to urban structures and ecosystems can be defined as URBAN ACUPUNCTURE, activating neuralgic spots while considerately harmonising the SYSTEM as a whole.
